Technical analysis is at the root of all of our analysis, and we very rarely dive into fundamental analysis as a tool for evaluating future prices. And why should we? Current price represents the average of all future expectations for returns, so it isn’t necessary for us to do our own research. We’ve touched on this topic before, but we wanted to give a quick refresher - unless we’ve got some fundamental data that isn’t available to the rest of the market (and we don’t, trust us) then there’s no analysis we can do that hasn’t already been performed and considered in the models that determine price. It’s a beautiful thing - thousands of professional analysts, who make hundreds of thousands of dollars each, giving us the total of all of their years and years of experience for absolutely no cost to us. Thanks!
